Poster panel kicks off PrintWeek Awards judging

Judging for this years PrintWeek Awards is underway. The Poster Printer of the Year category has already been decided following a day of deliberations at SMP Group in Norwood.

A team of poster experts judged the entries, including Danny Bush from advertising agency Mother and Sarah Allen, creative services director of Publicis.

The "Performance" categories including the top prize, PrintWeek Printing Company of the Year will be judged tomorrow (27 August) by chartered accountants from Grant Thornton.

"Quality" judging takes place on 3 September at the Grosvenor House, London where more than 20 print buyers from big brands such as Marks & Spencer and Tesco, will assess the entries.

Last year was a record breaker in terms of number of entries and that figure has been exceeded in 2004. Support from sponsors has also grown and the latest to sign up is Wam!Net, which is sponsoring the Pre-Press Company of the Year.

The shortlist is unveiled on 23 September and tickets for the big night, on 18 October at the Grosvenor House, are on sale. Contact: Sam Graham on 020 8267 4145.
