Pindar has bought four CreoScitex Iris 2Print proofers and Brisque Proof Extreme Digital Front Ends to standardise colour management across its seven sites in the UK.
The Irises, which were bought for an undisclosed six-figure sum, are housed in Pindars Scarborough, Preston, Edinburgh and Sheffield sites.
The Sheffield site will be calibrated to the webs at Scarborough including our Lithoman 48pp. The real advantage is that well be able to get consistency across the group, said Pindar pre-press manager Pete Blood.
He added that Pindar opted for the CreoScitex package because of its RIP once capability, which ensures data integrity.
The Irises in the regional repro houses are to be calibrated on a weekly basis to match a standard colour chart, while at the regional print centres the inks are to be calibrated on press.
Blood said: Our strategy is to reduce customer exposure to mistakes by ensuring that our regional repro centres supply our print centres with accurate digital files ready for plate output.
