The York-based firm has been renamed Agility Multichannel. A management team comprising chief executive Richard Hunt, product development director Graham Cook and Jason Simpson, director of marketing and channel sales, sealed the deal with Pindar Group administrator KPMG yesterday.
The Agility business employs 27 staff in the UK and a further 12 at its Chicago operation in America. Shares in the Chicago wing, which was not in administration, were acquired as part of the deal. Agility software provides customers with tools for multi-channel, multiple-language marketing across print and online channels.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hunt said the Agility team now planned to focus on realising the potential of the fast-growing business.
"Given these tough economic times this acquisition is not only good news for the software business and our customers, but also the local community; it puts York on the map as the home of a market leader in software development," he said.
Pindar’s Preston sheetfed site has now been closed, and the remaining eight employees made redundant. The Scarborough confidential print operation is the last of the group companies in administration to remain up for sale. Separately, the Alphagraphics printshop franchise is also in the process of being sold.
