According to Findus European purchasing director Angelo Schiavetta the deal is not a "traditional" one and gives Tyneside-based PDG a more hands-on role.
"The firm will work very closely with us and will have access to our site and systems. It was important to choose a supplier at a local level as that makes the operation smoother," said Schiavetta.
"Our experience with PE lined boards convinced it to work with us. It also recognised the benefits of dealing with a medium-sized carton printer, rather than a global operator," said PDG joint managing director Gordon Scorer.
