Print Design & Graphics (PDG) has won a place on the Inner City 100 index one of only nine firms in the North East to achieve this.
The inaugural Inner City 100 index aims to identify the 100 most successful businesses operating in Newcastle and 12 other cities.
"We are thrilled to qualify as we are very proud of our location and excellent workforce of 142 staff," said PDGs joint managing director, Gordon Scorer.
Companies are ranked by sales growth between 1996 and 2000, with the Tyneside packaging printers turnover rising by more than 61% to 12.5m over the period.
The Inner City 100 Index project is run by the New Economics Foundation one of the UKs leading think tanks on enterprise-led regeneration and is backed by the Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest.
