The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will mean that Paragon will take on all of Aiza's 42-strong workforce, which is based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. The 10m-turnover firm's services include print management, document management, general office supplies, e-commerce and imaging. Over the next six to 12 months, Aiza will be rebranded as Paragon.
"The perception of Paragon is that we are a printer, but over the past number of years, our profile has changed," said Paragon Group UK managing director Iain Black. "For the past few years, print management has been of particular significance to Paragon, representing sales of 30m in the UK.
"Aiza has key skills, good people and a key location."
Black said Paragon would be looking for further acquisitions to support its document management service.
"There is a lot of change in the industry at the moment and it's important to keep our eyes and ears open," he said.
Paragon's production capabilities include direct mail, transactional mail, print on demand and security printing. Its UK production sites are in Sunderland, Castleford, Bradford and Leeds. Clients include companies from the postal, transport and financial services sectors.
The group has also set up a manufacturing plant in Romania, and Black added that Paragon would push further into the eastern bloc.
Paragon is part of the Grenadier Group, which has a 105m turnover (152m).
