Paperlinx widens YoYo scheme to reach more than paper

Paper merchant Paperlinx has expanded its YoYo recycling scheme to include waste streams other than paper.

Previously a paper-only scheme, launched in 2008, Paperlinx waste partners will now collect plastic and aluminium.

Paperlinx deals with over 600 UK waste collection companies, which services customers of its subsidiaries Robert Horne Group, the Paper Company and Howard Smith Paper.

Yoyo paper is supplied to the user at the same time as their waste is collected. Waste products are passed on to recycling plants in order to produce the products, with paper used to create Yoyo.

According to the merchant, the service can help reduce an organisation's impact on the environment by cutting its carbon footprint, as well as saving money.

Collection has now reached around 200 tonnes of waste material a month, which has led to it expanding the scheme onto the continent.
