"The new installations are important to our vision of providing the best print possible. With this technology our clients can expect to come to Print-Tech knowing that we can provide them the best quality possible to make their products better," said the two directors and partners of the firm, Brundaban Behera and Biswa Ranjan Nayak.
Print-Tech though established in 1996, took off after it installed two Poly four-colour press in 2007 and 2008 respectively. "We added new clients like Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT University, which entailed we invest in four-colour machines to meet their demands."
But the firm needed to improve further when one of its clients which publishes a leading Oriya magazine Kadambini hinted at improving the quality. "That's the time Print-Tech seriously decided on buying the new kits," said Behera.
The Heidelberg SM 74 prints at 13,000sph and has automatic loading feature while the Suprasetter A-75 platesetter is a medium-sized compact auto plate processing system. Print-Tech has also switched to using Heidelberg Saphira plates and inks.
"We are very impressed with the outstanding performance features of the Heidelberg kits because of which we have been able to double our production capacity from 36,000 to 80,000 sheets per shift and have saved handsomely on wastages. We are also impressed by the all-round expert service offered by Heidelberg," said Nayak.
The Rs 5-crore firm, which employs 40 persons and operates from two locations in Bhubaneshwar, next plans to strengthen its post-press, which according to Behera "will allow the firm complete print process control in-house rather than relying on periodic outsourcing."
