The Rotherhithe-based business, which is targeting a £2m-plus turnover this financial year, took delivery of the machine earlier this month.
SPM is using the new platesetter to image Fuji Brillia processless Pro-T plates for its brace of Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74 presses.
Mark Sayer, operations director at SPM Print, said the Heidelberg Suprasetter 75 came out strongest following a period of evaluating rival machines.
"We looked at the next stage of our development and the Suprasetter 75 fit the bill. It had the perfect combination of quality, speed and automation for what we need," he added.
The investment comes nine months after the 24-staff business installed a Xerox 1000 digital colour press to stay "one step ahead of the game".
SPM Print caters for a range of commercial clients while specialising in booklet production.
In addition to the company's Suprasetter spend, SPM Print has also invested in a Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) van to boost its green credentials.
The printer, which has the ISO 14001 accreditation and is FSC-certified, has a proactive "rolling programme" to improve its eco-friendliness.
