Anil Narang, director at Astha Packaging, said: "We have been doing some special application jobs and for this we have procured a customised UV Heidelberg Speedmaster four-colour press." He added: "It was time to add capacity with state-of-the-art equipment. This will lead to a fast track development for our company."
Narang's fascination for German technology and engineering goes back to the time when it installed the first Heidelberg SORK single-colour press in 2001, followed by a MOV four-colour press and two Polar cutting machines. "I have always preferred Heidelberg," he said.
The SM 74 is configured to print UV on each of the units. It runs at a top speed of 15,000sph and can handle stock thicknesses ranging from 0.03-0.8mm on a variety of substrates.
The Stahlfolder TD66 has upgraded the post-press unit at Astha and provides processing of large volumes in special formats. The TD 66 features electronically controlled makereadies, sheet monitoring and production control.
