What positives are you able to draw on from the experiences of 2024?
As a B Corp, we celebrated our three-year anniversary this year, and for me, I feel really proud to be part of a business that is a force for good. It really sets the standard for all aspects of business and we have built some rewarding partnerships with fellow B Corps. Being recognised in the SMP Awards – receiving three awards, was a real high too!
What trend (business or technology) do you think has dominated 2024?
It’s great to see more and more of the print industry measuring their carbon emissions, and latest BPIF figures show 72% of companies are now doing this. This really helps us to further reinforce how sustainable the print industry and using print as a marketing channel is. Let’s keep going, we have more to do!
What do you think will represent the single biggest opportunity for printers in 2025 and why?
Inspiring the next generation. Working in print is often not a conscious career decision, let’s share with the next generation the power of print, the diversity of skills within it and the passion we have for our craft.
What are your hopes for 2025?
It’s got to be for no more major changes or crises please. Can we have a boring, stable year?
What piece of advice do you wish you had been given in December 2023 to prepare you for the year you’ve just had?
Having been promoted to CEO in June of this year, it’s been a whirlwind of a year! I think being reminded that leading a business is a rollercoaster and that when you are doubting yourself, your team have got you. I couldn’t ask for more from the Webmart team this year, they’re an awesome bunch that truly care. We fiercely celebrate the highs, and when the lows come, we work together to figure it out.
What was your word or phrase of the year in 2024?
Collaboration. It works in lots of ways! Collaboration with clients to build marketing campaigns, collaboration across our industry to make change, collaboration with our charity partners to maximise our impact, collaboration across teams within Webmart. However we collaborate, we get a better outcome by doing it.
What’s your favourite Christmas cracker joke?
What was the snowman doing in the vegetable patch?
Picking his nose!
Sprouts, yes or no?
Absolutely yes! It's not Christmas without sprouts!
Are you making any New Year's resolutions? If so, what?
No, I don’t like to put that kind of pressure on myself, I would rather focus on small wins throughout the year.
