CPS Group has expanded its senior team with the appointment of a managing director in a newly created role for the business.

Paul Little, who is new to the industry having spent the last 14 years as executive sales and marketing director at Relyon and Steinhoff UK Beds, has started in his new position at the Caerphilly, Wales-based business today (1 September).

His role was created by CPS Group owner Simon Green, to help the company with the development of a robust strategy for future growth.

Green will continue his involvement in the group, which is currently recruiting additional staff to handle a busy order book, and will focus on new business development.

Little, meanwhile, will be responsible for the strategic development and leadership of the group, with a view to taking its growth within the UK and wider European markets to the next level.

He told Printweek: “I am still finalising the strategy for the group, but needless to say I will be looking to significantly grow the group beyond its current size and position in the sector.

“CPS is currently in an excellent position with a strong loyal customer base spanning across multiple sectors, specialising in bespoke printing services and facilities but, as with all businesses in the UK, a greater focus will be needed in our digital platform and digital services, and ensuring the manufacturing arm of the group is well placed for future growth through this channel.

“Alongside this I will be looking to grow and develop the team at CPS to ensure we continue to provide our customers with a class-leading level of design, print, service and innovation.”

Little added his move to CPS was "one of opportunity".

“I have known CPS for many years and held a fantastic supplier-manufacturer relationship, which is where the opportunity arose from.”

CPS, which was established by Green 30 years ago, employs 30 staff and has a turnover of around £4m. Operating litho, flexo, digital and wide-format equipment, the business supplies labels to the carpet and mattress industries and also works closely with the medical sector.
