The machine is an automated all-buckle 40cm-wide folding system and is the final part of a £3m spend by the Newmarket-based company this year.

MY Healthcare's new AF-406T6A comes with a six-buckle crossfold and standing delivery. It has six fold plates and is fully-automated.

The 6+6-buckle modular concept covers a wide-fold pattern range and the on-board memory can store up to 200 jobs.

Operations manager Tina Goodman said one motivation behind the investment was decreasing run lengths at the business.

She added: "The machine gives us more flexibility in planning jobs. Makereadies are so much faster."

The Newmarket site has 70 staff and provides printed packaging for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Its product range includes folding cartons, patient information leaflets, self-adhesive labels and printed foils used in blister packs.
