Monks retired at the end of last year after 14 years as chief executive of MY Holdings, announcing his intention to stay in print.
He fills the newly created role of president with BPIF Cartons, which has been re-launched from its former guise of the British Carton Association.
The new organisation will continue to work in close collaboration with Pro Carton, to tackle the issues facing the industry. Pro Carton will concentrate on promoting the benefits of cartons, public affairs and environmental matters.
The first of a number of joint projects will be a combined Carton Conference in 2006, and lobbying in conjunction with the Packaging Federation.
