RnB is headed by joint partners Bob Rhodes and Ryan Metcalf, former managing director and IT manager respectively of Production Direct, the direct mail arm of Sheffield-based ProCo.
The 12-staff firm has 10 HP laser printers, ranging from 24 to 50ppm, capable of handling 15,000 A4 pages per hour. Addressing is handled by a two-unit Renaddress system.
Rhodes and Metcalf are considering further investment in either a continuous laser, possibly colour, or a high-volume sheetfed printer. "But we're still in the planning stages for that," added Metcalf.
Post-press kit at the Wortley, Leeds operation includes two Phillipsburg C5 enclosing lines. "With size-based pricing coming in we see demand for C4 decreasing, but we will keep looking at it," said Metcalf.
A 3,500iph Norpack CF35 polywrapping line has also been installed at the firm's 2,000sqm factory. Data is processed by Experian.
The firm began trading in June and has already handled 2.5m items, primarily for local businesses, agencies and Councils.
"We've hit the ground running," said Rhodes.
RnB is aiming for turnover of around 250,000 in its first year.
