Announced on Monday (31 March), the deal follows Print.Group’s February acquisition of online printer Simian, which included the brands Reclameland, Flyerzone and Drukland, as well as Simian’s 23,000sqm production facility near Groningen in the Netherlands.
Print.Group said the latest deal would see the company expand its portfolio with various workflow and print management offerings, including brand portals, order portals, white-label shops and a digital asset management (DAM) system.
The group said it aimed to integrate these tools – which support users in areas such as sales, marketing and brand management – into Print.com, alongside existing integrations with offerings from Prindustry, Marvia, Multipress, JamesPro and Spicelab.
Print.Group CEO Marco Aarnink – who prior to starting the business owned Dutch online printshop Drukwerkdeal, which was sold to Cimpress in 2014 – said the new acquisition fit “seamlessly” into Print.com's platform philosophy.
“We are a tech company making the world of print accessible to graphic and creative professionals. It’s not just about the personalised products in our ordering environment, but also about digital solutions that save our customers time in their daily work.
“Alongside our own applications, we continue to invest in partnerships with our suppliers. Ultimately, the needs of our customers determine the tools they choose.”
Theo van den Broek, founder of 10-staff ISI Publishing Innovators, which is based in the Netherlands, added: “The ambition and long-term vision of Print.Group are exactly what ISI needs to expand our international reach and sales power. This collaboration is a great opportunity to further roll out our products and services internationally.”
The ISI team will continue to operate from their base in Ede, under their own brand name within Print.Group’s software division, Print.Solutions.
The current products and services of ISI Publishing Innovators will remain available to existing customers. ISI Consultancy, a partner company of ISI that specialises in production automation, is not part of the acquisition. The collaboration with ISI Consultancy will remain unchanged.
Fiona Robinson, UK country captain for Print.com, also commented: “Brand portals solutions are something I’ve been looking to add to our toolbox for the UK, it’s something that fits naturally with our print professional clientele.
“Many of our customers are already looking for a way to allow their customers to order their products online, as well as easily integrate and offer a greater range of products to those customers. I think it’ll be an exciting addition to the Print.com toolbox.”
Print.com launched its UK online B2B print platform at The Print Show last year, having established a sterling storefront and secured its first UK production partners.
The Print.com product range includes items like books and brochures, stationery and packaging, flyers and leaflets, banners and signage, labels and corporate gifts, and clothing and events graphics.
