Kodak's Nexpress takes lead role at Olympics

Kodak's Nexpress S2500 Digital Production Press is taking a lead role in the print work for this year's Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The company, which is the official imaging sponsor of the 8–24 August games, is also producing more than 1.2m security badges for the event

During the games, the company is using its Nexpress S2500 to produce a range of on-demand print, such as photobooks, postcards, newsletters and posters.

Kodak is also printing more than 1.2m badges, which are used for athletes, officials, volunteers and sponsors that need access to Olympic venues.

The documents are created by scanning in the individual's data into a database via a Kodak i620 Scanner. These are then processed and produced using Professional ML-500 or Professional 9810 digital photo printer.

Kevin Joyce, chief marketing officer of Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, said: "The Olympics provide an opportunity to spotlight the breadth of applications made possible by our digital portfolio."

He added: "We appreciate the opportunity to provide digital printing and document imaging solutions that are contributing to the overall experience of the Games for all attendees."
