The paper merchant, which claims to be the first company to introduce zero emission deliveries in Ireland, is delivering graphic and office paper in the vehicles.
James McNaughton has already saved an estimated 4,250 litres of fuel in addition to 12 tonnes of CO2 exhaust emissions a year with its first electric truck.
Peter Love, branch manager of McNaughton Paper in Northern Ireland, said: "The paper industry is much maligned, so we wanted to do something that was environmentally responsible to help change that general perception."
He added: "To be the first business, let alone paper merchant in Ireland, to have this emissions-free technology is very exciting and reinforces our group-wide approach to finding sustainable solutions throughout our business."
