James McNaughton up for Energy Saving Trust award

James McNaughton has been selected as a finalist in the Energy Saving Trust's (EST) Fleet Heroes Awards 2008 for its fleet management strategy.

Launched in partnership with The Guardian, The Observer and Fleet News, the third annual Fleet Hero Awards will take place at the London Transport Museum on 14 October.

Categories include business mileage, innovation, leadership and smarter driving, in addition to awards for the best small, medium and large fleets.

The paper merchant has been selected as a finalist for the Best Medium Fleet category.

Howard Browning, McNaughton director for corporate responsibility, said: "At McNaughton we are rightly proud of our green car policy and fleet management. We would strongly encourage other companies to work with EST to review their fleets and reduce their own carbon footprint."

Last year, the James McNaughton Group was runner up in the Business Mileage category.
