The Southend-based firm has won a two-year contract to handle typesetting and production for the classified and semi-display adverts for 28 of the publishers 60-plus titles.
Bath-based Future previously used St Austell-based Atelier for its advertising production. It handles editorial repro in-house.We were looking for faster turnaround and a firm that was more geared to typesetting than just production, said Future advertising production manager Nola Palmer. We needed people that could typeset and theyre a dying breed.
As well as typesetting, J Jays is also providing Future with an online booking and tracking system. The browser-based system provides full information on the details and status of jobs as well as the ability to proof individual ads and pages.
Future handles the production of display advertising in-house using One- Vision Asura file checking and correction software.
