Irish firm Sharpbyte creates file transfer software
As well as handling secure file transfer the software has built-in compression designed to save massive amounts of transmission time and costs incurred moving large image files around.
Files supported include EPS, TIFF and JPEG. Compression ratios range between 20:1 and 120:1.
UK distributor Art Systems sees it as particularly useful for wide-format printing and mapping applications. The Nottingham firm will show the software with yet-to-be-announced dealers at Digital Solutions OnDemand and Digital Print World.
Based on a client server model, users buy the server for 3,995, which includes support for up to five concurrent customer submissions.
It was developed in response to sales and marketing director Ib Schjotz-Pedersens need in his previous job at Ilford Imaging for a file transfer package to use in the distribution of artwork to stores for the output of PoP material.was produced on a Komori 528 at Wyndeham Hubbard.
