The software is designed to offer on-press colour measurement of sheets at various positions across a print job, which enables both printers and print buyers to prove that a job is printed within agreed colour tolerances.
It works using a spectrophotometer on the press, but can also be used by print buyers using a spectrophotomoeter such as the X-Rite on work delivered to the customer to ensure that standards are met. Once the measurements are taken, the software creates a two-page report confirming the quality of the work.
Rapidcheck can be calibrated to work with the ISO 12647-2 and -3 standards as well as in-house bespoke specifications.
The £395 offer is less than half the list price of £852 and is for a lifetime licence for one PC. However, data from any number of presses can be put through the software. More information is available at the image2output website.
