SmartStream Designer 4.0 can integrate and preview versioned jobs with a combination of fixed elements along with variable text and images. The software also offers imposition tools for large-format printers for fixed and variable jobs.

"There is an enormous opportunity for variable data printing and SmartStream Designer 4.0 unlocks this opportunity in the large-format market," said Scitex large format solutions general manager Yariv Avisar.

Early customers have reported massive time savings from the use of SmartStream compared to manual pre-press - one claimed a 93% reduction, while another claimed 25 hours had been slashed to three.
