As part of the closer integration within HP, and evidence of the firm's vision of "ecosystems" linking corporates' print requirements from desktop to direct mail, HP Indigo presses and software will be installed in HP's Imagine showroom.
The new showroom will open in January and allow customers to see everything from "a PDA to an Indigo".
HP Indigo is also adding additional focus to its marketing and service. A new marketing manager is joining before the end of the year, finally replacing Paul Randall who left last year. It is also adding further business development tools for both existing and new customers.
Part of the drive is the new sales development course, which is "very much looking at what marketers actually want" according to country manager Adrian Stark.
Additional support staff have recently been appointed and the firm is looking at how it handles customer support and problem escalation. It has also run a pilot scheme for customers to train their in-house teams to provide their own support and 24/7 cover. It is opening that up to other firms and Stark believes it has become even more important now "we've got customers who run millions of impressions per month".
Among its high volume customers is St Ives, which this week took delivery of the UK's first HP Indigo w3200 digital web and a 3050 at its Leeds site (PrintWeek, 5 August).
