Folium administrator denies "sold" claims

Confusion surrounds the potential sale of failed printer Folium Group as conflicting reports are emerging over the status of the business.

Printers have reported being told by the administrators that the Birmingham-based business had been sold.

John Macmillan, managing director of Nantwich-based Johnsons Print, said that he had called administrators Leonard Curtis last week and was "told quite clearly that the company had been sold."

However, Leonard Curtis insolvency practitioner Paul Masters told PrintWeek today (14 April) that the business had not been sold. He declined to comment further.

Meanwhile, a company called Folium Print Limited has been incorporated according to Companies House.

The company was set up on 9 April and is registered to a London address. The company shares its address with Oliver Marketing, a print management company.

The directors of Folium Print Limited are Simon Martin and Simon Weaver, managing director and finance director of Oliver Marketing. However, it is currently unclear whether the company is related to the situation at Folium Group.

The directors of Oliver Marketing could not be reached for comment.
