Folio moves into laminating with Tauler purchase

Print finishing specialist Folio (Bristol) has made the move into laminating with an investment in finishing equipment from supplier Friedheim.

The company has bought a new Tauler PrintLam CTIS 105 B1 large-format laminator.

Folio's new PrintLam is a B1 landscape pallet-to-pallet machine, which includes a crane and stacker.

Managing director Andy Bird said: "Our entry into laminating was a natural progression as it complements everything else we do.

"We chose the Tauler because its specification was exactly what we required: not only was it capable of handling B1, it was compact and easy to use."

Folio was formed in 1989 and has been growing rapidly ever since – continually taking over units at its Bristol site as they became available.

The company currently employs 64 full-time staff who work 24/5, plus weekends when demand dictates.

It operates as a specialist print finisher, capable of handling anything from single-figure production up to runs of many millions.
