The Tauler CTi75 was installed at the Bristol-based trade house earlier this month – almost a year after Folio's first machine was installed.
According to managing director Andy Bird, lamination at the company has been on the increase during the past year, to the extent that he was having to turn work away.
He said: "When you go into a new sector you want to be considered as a supplier in that area. We were having to turn work away and then people discount you as a lamination supplier."
Bird added that the company had originally discussed the possibility of upgrading the existing machine to a faster alternative. However, he said the decision to buy a second was a good one.
He explained: "We often get two jobs coming in at once, so the second machine made more sense. We have double the capacity now, so we can put a job through quicker, but if a second job comes in we have the space to put it on the line. The key as a trade finisher is to satisfy as many customers at the same time as possible.
"We can laminate for binding and stitching work at the same time and the machines are located side by side, which enables us to run them in tandem with the one operator."
