The UK-based firm, which has sites in Northampton, Manchester and Glasgow, became a distributor of the products around two months ago, and already distributes a number of other Altuglas acrylic sheet products.
Europoint service centre manager Margaret Smith said the products were mainly sold for large-scale projects and were priced on a case-by-case basis.
According to the manufacturer Signature is half the weight and twice the transparency of conventional glass and can be used in conjunction with LEDs to produce lighting effects. It is available in range of different textures: large gold grid, small gold grid, large silver grid, large silver and black grid, non-woven, moire and lace. It can be line-bent or drape-moulded and does not bleach.
Smith said: “I went to Grand Designs Live and saw how people reacted to it and it was very positive. When you see these materials lit up, the effect that they give is quite stunning really; it is a very creative product. I would say it is a high-end luxury material, which gives lovely optical effects.
“We want to show the creative side of it and then work on projects with customers. We have already had one where a guy was working with a brewery and we have been talking to manufacturers about staircases as it can be draped.”
The product is available in standard sheets of 2x1.2m, with thicknesses of between 5mm and 15mm.
Europoint supplies materials to the UK POS, signage and digital printing sectors. It started stocking Avery ColorFlow Films earlier this month, which Smith said had been “selling well”.
Last year the business, which was rescued from administration following the collapse of Paperlinx UK, started distributing Brett Martin products. It also stocks brands including Oracal, Dtec, Neschen, Skybond, Euroflute, Foamalux, Altuglas Acrylic and Lexan Polycarbonate.
