The 16-page section will be sealed by a perforated tear-off strip and is the first time Egmont has used this feature.
The section is being produced by Polestar Chromoworks, which was fortunate enough to be one of one companies which, once contacted by Egmont, said it was able to do the work which involved complicated folding. The rest of the magazine is printed by Southernprint.
Sarah Colley, Production Manager at Egmont Magazines, said: "We are delighted with the results and are sure our readers will be too, as it adds a degree of excitement for them as they open it."
"It had been a long-held wish of our creative team to have a sealed secret section and in the past we've seen similar examples but all on perfect-bound products. To incorporate this feature into a saddle-stitched magazine, the folding is vital as the first fold is on the long dimension of the sheet and this is particularly tricky.
