The System 4x (pictured) is one of the first devices capable of moving to violet processless plates, according to the firm.
It costs around 38,000 and images more than 20 plates an hour at 2,400dpi. ECRM vice president Derek Sizer said that the machine "would be ready for violet processless technology when it comes to the market".
The System4, costing from 31,000, is a modular machine in two- or four-page versions and is for printers on an "extremely tight budget", according to Sizer.
Like the 4x, the System4 images 20 plates an hour at 2,400dpi and is designed for printers running two-up plates but expecting to expand to four-up.
