Walsh said the Cyrel Digital FAST platemaking system, launched at Drupa, had just finished beta testing at several sites in the UK, and was now commercially available.
Walsh, who becomes business manager in the UK, will be based at Stevenage and be supported by a 30-strong team.
A Cyrel Digital FAST platemaking system will also be installed at the Stevenage site, where the firm will set up a technical centre.
“The structure of the new unit allows us to offer new developments in both proofing and Cyrel platemaking along with our expertise” said DuPont’s European marketing manager, Ralph Bates.
He said the unit would operate with a definite five-year plan in place. New product offerings will come to the market from this year.
The Imaging Technologies business combines Cyrel Packaging Graphics and DuPont Colour Proofing.
