Direct-to-Plate (DtP) plans to increase the UK presence of Krauses CTP systems as it enters a joint venture to handle sales and support for the German manufacturer.
DtP has been Krauses UK service partner for 15 years and took up sales last year at Drupa. Director Trevor Darlington said it had been more active in sales since the start of this year.
The joint venture, Krause DtP, will operate from sites in Leeds and Stoke-on-Trent. Darlington will handle sales with assistance from Krauses Stefan Beke-Bramkamp.
They will be supported by former Misomex managing director Gordon Kirsopp, who has been working as DtPs sales and marketing consultant since last October.
"I hope we can bring Krause to the attention of the UK market and show it is still very much in the market," said Darlington.
DtP has made all the financial investment in the joint venture but has received good backing from Krause, he added.
News International in Glasgow, Shropshire Star in Telford, Mackays of Chatham and Omnia Books near Glasgow have all installed Krause CTP systems.
