Direct To Plate, the firm that services Krause equipment in the UK, has moved into sales, filling the gap left by the demise of Krause UK last year.
It will focus on selling Krause platesetters to the newspaper sector, although it will also sell to the commercial print market.
"Most newspapers in the UK have still yet to go CTP," said sales director Trevor Darlington. "Were talking to four or five companies, both regional and national groups."
It is in talks to take a stand at this years Newstec to show the Krause range.
The firm also handles servicing of Krauses step and repeat machines, Optronics platesetters, Dataoy plate scanners and Nela plate benders.
It recently sold two Nela NP250 punch benders to the Stoke Sentinel to support its installation of two Agfa Polaris platesetters.
Ex-Misomex managing director Gordon Kirsopp is working for the company as a marketing consultant.
The eight-strong firm is headed up by Darlington and fellow directors David Corbridge and Ian Phillips. It is in the process of recruiting two more engineers to its team of four.
It recently opened a second office in Stoke-on-Trent in addition to its existing office in Leeds. The second office also has warehouse space.
