The machine, which was supplied with an A56 mobile stream delivery system, replaced an ageing machine that was unable to handle all the volume of work at the 24-staff company.

Managing director of the £3m-turnover business, John Godwin, said: "The old machine was not as productive as we would have liked; it was a few years old. We have our own designers and they were coming up with more complex requests.

"Increasingly, we were seeing more work going out to be finished and we wanted to be able to control that in-house. This makes us more efficient and more cost effective."

According to Godwin, the MBO offers DS more options for "intricate folds", as well as being more productive.
