DNG Media nabs UK first with Fujifilm Brillia violet plate

DNG Media has become the first UK printer to opt for Fujifilm's Brillia LP-NNW violet plate as part of a move to a fully automated CTP workflow.

The group, which is the largest independent publisher and printer of newspapers in Dumfries and Galloway, prints and circulates more than 36,000 papers each week.

The new Brillia plate is designed for newspaper applications and can be used on all violet newspaper platesetters. It incorporates Fujifilm's MultiGrain technology and can handle run lengths of up to 200,000 impressions.

Bill Laidlaw, managing director of DNG Media, said: "We have been using Fujifilm conventional plates and film for some time now and were very happy with the quality of our titles when we initially moved to Fujifilm."

He added: "It was therefore a natural progression to move to Fujifilm LP-NNW CTP plates when we decided to move to a CTP workflow with the Krause Smart 'N' Easy jet solution."

DNG Media publishes and prints several titles in the Annandale Series, including the Annandale Observer, Annandale Herald and the Moffat News.
