Creo parts with UK sales director Nixon

Creo's UK sales director Mark Nixon will leave the firm this Friday (16 January).

I feel I achieved a great deal and have certainly learned a lot, said Nixon. It is now time for me to look into different challenges and opportunities and also to spend a bit more time with my family.

Nixon said that at the moment he has no role lined up and didnt know whether he would remain in graphic arts or not.

The firm stated that Nixon has stepped down to pursue other interests.

Creo vice president sales EMEA Dave Wigfield is in the process of recruiting a new UK sales director. He said that there would be no other changes to Creos UK sales team.

Rivals commented that Nixon had been a strong competitor, hard worker and "bloody good salesman".

Creo, along with other pre-press firms, faced tough times last year with a decline in the overall market for B1 platesetters, its core market, of 30% according to some estimates. It also faced tough competition in the VLF and B2 markets. It was until recently also suffering from the inability to offer plate deals.

Wigfield told PrintWeek that Nixons departure had nothing to do with Creos UK performance.

Nixon had been with Creo, and prior to that Scitex, for eight years.
