Nixon joined the Watford-based office of KBA on Monday (15 March) succeeding George Kendal who is moving towards retirement. Kendal will now focus on Scotland and Ireland.
KBA UK managing director Christian Knapp said he had contacted Nixon 24 hours after learning he had left Creo in January (PrintWeek, 15 January). There isnt that much talent out there and when it comes up youve got to jump. When Mark came up, for me it was a very straightforward decision, Knapp said.
He hadnt wanted to recruit from outside the industry because that strategy had been unsuccessful for KBAs competitors, Knapp said, alluding to his former employer MAN Roland, which has just parted company with GB managing director Nick Charles who joined the firm from the computer industry.
Nixon had been with Creo, and formerly Scitex, for eight years.
