Charterhouse hits Waitrose jackpot

Charterhouse, the Hatfield-based print management company, has won a major contract worth in excess of 4m per year to handle the vast majority of the general print for supermarket chain Waitrose.

The award of the contract follows a tender process that commenced earlier this year.

The contract, which will be on-going, will see Charterhouse handle the supermarket chain's direct mail, and all of its general print work including stationery and human resource material.

It will also involve the handling of Waitrose's in-house publications and some of its in-store point of sale material.

A team of around four personnel from Charterhouse will handle the account, some of whom will be housed on site.

The win follows some earlier consultancy work that was undertaken by Charterhouse for Waitrose.

This latest contract win follows Charterhouse's success earlier this year, when it secured the contract to handle all the direct marketing material for Powergen, worth around 5m per year (PrintWeek, 4 March).

Charterhouse also secured the handling of all the collateral for the relaunch of The AirMiles Travel Company last year.

Its other clients include Renault, Marks & Spencer, T-Mobile and Wickes.

Turnover this year for Charterhouse is expected to double to in the region of 24m.
