According to Cats managing director Greg Smith (pictured), the site will be for contracted clients only and will focus purely on office print. University College London and PR Newswire will both have work printed at the new site.
"They are very much our partners and the new site is going to move us to the next level," said Smith.
Based at Broken Wharf House near Blackfriars, the division will open with four Xerox DocuTech 6135s, two DocuColor 6060s and four DocuColor 250s, although more are likely to be added. Smith also said that he is considering installing an iGen3 in the next six months. The London site will have a 16-strong workforce and officially open in mid-April.
The firm is in the process of recruiting sales staff.
"The response so far has been brilliant and I'm considering opening another site in Canary Wharf," added Smith.
Cats' Swindon headquarters will support London for larger, more complex jobs. The Swindon operation has 19 Xerox DocuTechs.
"London has been set up to feed itself, not to provide work for Swindon," he said.
"We are now going to have a serious campaign in London to spread the word."
Cats plans to run a series of open days during the official opening at the 350sqm site. It is looking into opening further divisions in Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle.
