The inkjet press, installed in early December, will work alongside CFH’s existing ColorStream 6900 at the Somerset factory – one of three CFH sites in the UK – to bolster the firm’s web-to-print capacity and print efficiency.
Replacing several older toner machines, the iX3200, which prints at 320 images per minute with an uptime of over 90%, has helped CFH reduce its fleet size while maintaining productivity – helping cut energy usage and free up manpower.
The press is CFH’s second iX3200, with the order specifically placed off the back of a successful installation at the firm’s Livingstone factory in Scotland, which has helped the firm to pursue growth in its hybrid marketing business.
While CFH’s flagship product is direct and hybrid mail, the company also prints commercially in digital and litho, with customers across health, financial and local government sectors, including for electoral print.
Steve Cray, CFH’s group production director, said: “We’re delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Canon and continue to invest in commercial printing platforms.
“In turn, we receive the best in class, high-quality services over a wide variety of media applications.
“Our Canon devices are proven to deliver high levels of productivity and a positive ROI, along with continuous, excellent customer service support provided from Canon.”
Stuart Rising, Canon UKI’s head of commercial print, added: “We value our continued partnership with CFH, and are excited to see how they are utilising Canon technology to level up their customer service and optimise their operation across all areas of business.
“The implementation of the VarioPrint iX3200 will enable the business to reach the next level of digital productivity, giving it the capacity to work with new and existing markets.”
CFH employs around 300 staff, turning over £51m in the year to March 2023.
