Camps quits Enfocus again

Peter Camps, entrepreneur and senior vice president of EskoArtwork-subsidiary Enfocus, has quit the company he founded in 1993 for the second time in order to pursue further academic studies in physics and astronomy.

Camps, who first quit Enfocus in 2003, three years after selling the company to Artwork Systems for €10m, said at the time that he would take time out to get back to his roots before looking for another project.

That project became Gradual Systems, which he founded in 2005 and sold in 2008 to EskoArtwork, the company formed from Esko's acquisition of Artwork Systems.

Esko incorporated Gradual Systems into Enfocus, which it had set up as a sister company following its merger with Artwork Systems.

On his second exit from Enfocus, Camps, who has been instrumental in the development of the modern pre-press workflow, said: "It is time for me to do something different where I will pursue further academic studies within physics and astronomy.

"I look back proudly on what's been achieved to date at both Enfocus and Gradual. I am positive the company is in a strong position and will continue to thrive."

Camps will be replaced as vice president of Enfocus by Fabian Prudhomme, who has led EskoArtwork's consulting services arm for the past four years.
