Buzwell Group is issued with a winding-up order

A winding-up petition has been filed against the Buzwell Group and two subsidiaries, while its White Productions print operation is also the subject of court action.

ExecutivesOnline, a recruitment company, has filed the winding-up petition, which will be heard in the High Court on 18 August.

Managing director Norrie Johnston said his company had supplied six executives to four companies: Buzwell Group, Buzwell Management and two subsidiaries.

The winding-up order had been postponed twice before and Johnston said the Buzwell Group now owed "a considerable amount of money".

Last year, Buzwell Group chief executive Colin Parker and his associates, under the name of Skyrooks, bought the former business of Perivan White Dove, now known as White Productions, from its administrative receivers (PrintWeek, 11 December 2003).

White Productions has two outstanding County Court Judgements, filed in the past two months for 1,248 and 2,056.

Buzwell was in talks to buy Southampton-based printer Offset Colour Print earlier this year. Despite no news of a deal, the phones at Offset Colour are now being answered as "White Offset".

No one at Buzwell Group was available for comment as PrintWeek went to press.
