White Productions faces wind-up call

White Productions is facing a winding-up petition from Begbies Traynor, administrator of Perivan Group, the firm it was bought from after its administration in 2003.

Begbies Traynor partner Nick Hood said the winding-up petition had been issued, "to recover a significant element still outstanding from the sale of the assets of Perivan". Hood said the amount was a "substantial five-figure sum".

The petition is to be presented at the High Court in London on 8 September.

This latest twist in the saga of White Productions comes less than a year after the firm, then Perivan White Dove, was acquired from its administrators by the Buzwell Group, under the name of Skyrooks (PrintWeek, 11 December 2003).

It has also emerged that Buzwell chief executive Colin Parker is in an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA). An IVA is entered into when an individual is unable to meet debts and where the debtor makes an offer to their creditors that has to be accepted by 75%.

Insolvency practitioner Rogers Evans is handling Parker's IVA. A spokesman for Rogers Evans confirmed it was handling Parker's case but declined to comment further.

Companies House records show that Parker is listed as a company director of 23 active limited firms and has been a director of six businesses that have failed or been dissolved.

Despite calls to Buzwell, no one was available for comment.
