Bumper Kew magazine tender goes live

Kew magazine is viewed as an important communication tool to inform members about the Gardens

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has opened a seven-figure tender to procure a supplier to manage the design and production of Kew magazine.

The publication is published three times a year and forms part of the package of benefits for those who join the Kew Gardens membership scheme, of which there are approximately 80,000 subscriptions, or approximately 110,000 members.

“Delivered as a print product to approximately 80,000 households, Kew magazine is viewed as an important communication tool to inform members about the Gardens including our Wakehurst site, Kew’s scientific purpose, and what’s on for members to enjoy,” the Gardens stated in its contract notice.

The Richmond-based organisation’s tender has an estimated total value of £1.2m. It said price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12pm on 13 November 2024.

The contract will start on 1 February 2025. It will last 36 months and is subject to renewal, with an extension clause of 12 months included in the contract term.

In separate tender news, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council wishes to appoint suppliers to be included on a print, signage and vehicle livery services framework contract. 

The framework contract term will be for a period of two years commencing on 1 March 2025 and ending on 28 February 2027, plus the option of two 12-month additional extension periods.

This framework contract will comprise of five lots: general printing; offset printing; general signage and large-format printing; highways signage; and vehicle livery.

“This contract is initially being let by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, however access to this contract is extended to other public sector organisations within the Tees Valley, Stockton on Tees Borough Council, Darlington Borough Council, Hartlepool Borough Council and Middlesbrough Council,” the contract notice stated.

“The requirements will vary from organisation to organisation and there is no guarantee that all organisations will participate in this contract in the future.

“Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council will only be responsible for their list of contract requirements. All other organisations will be responsible for their individual requirements and contract arrangement. Please note the estimated total value of the framework includes for all potential participants for the full term of 48 months.”

With an estimated total value of £1.5m, tenders may be submitted for all lots.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 2pm on 4 November 2024.
