The machine can print at up to 60ppm and is capable of handling substrates up to 300gsm in thickness. It was installed earlier this month.
“We are always looking to purchase new equipment and expand our plant list. We previously purchased a Bizhub Pro C6000L in April and have since witnessed the great potential and quality of the machine,” said managing director Lorraine Burnell.
“When we decided we were going to purchase an additional colour printer, it was clear that the Bizhub Pro C6000L was the best option.
“Our printing speeds and capacity have now increased and we can now print more quality direct mail at a faster rate. This investment will most definitely speed up production timings.”
Baker Goodchild also operates three Pro 906EX (5400) machines, a Xerox 6060 colour printer, an HP 4700 DN, a Sharp MX 5500N, two Ricoh Pro 1106/1356EX high-speed mono printers, a Rena 630, two Pitney Bowes DA75S shuttle heads, two Pitney Bowes DA95Fs, a Domino Jet Array, an Astrojet 3600 and a C.itoh S4 thermal label printer.
The business also runs auto-inserting equipment from Norpak, Buhrs and Kern as well as a range of finishing kit. Last month it installed a Buhrs BB300 envelope inserting system and it has also recently bought a Polar 76 guillotine.
“With many multinational organisations implementing direct mail it is a demanding market. In order to handle this demand it is essential to expand the company’s equipment to ensure clients expectations are always met,” said Burnell.
