The machine, which was launched at the end of 2011, aims to achieve significant cuts in machine down-time for printers and converters by reducing makeready time, generating less waste and requiring less operator intervention.
The Titan SR9 slitter rewinder, which has a running speed of up to 1,000m/min, features three separate modules for unwinding, cutting and rewinding.
Atlas Converting Equipment senior manager of communications Roger Astell said: "The idea behind the Titan SR9 Series is that the rewind module can be upgraded to suit changing production requirements, which means that a printer or converter only has to change the front end rather than the whole machine."
Atlas Converting Equipment is to launch new modules for the slitter rewinder later this year, including a dual shaft (DS) module and a single turret (ST) module for use with a wide range of flexible materials including plain, printed, coated or metallized films, laminates, paper, board and flexible packaging materials.
The Titan SR9 Series has been designed with sustainability in mind and features energy efficient motors and regenerative braking to help achieve savings in energy consumption.
