The inks are manufactured by the Swiss digital large-format company, Polytype Group. It is specially designed for printing on glass surfaces for industrial use.
Arrow Digital is a distributor for a range of materials and equipment for the digital printing. The firm serves various segments of the indoor/outdoor advertising, along with signage and corporate branding.
According to Arrow, the new ink series has been subjected to a number of performance tests demonstrating its compatibility and durability. It was used for printing on glass that had been pre-treated with a primer Virtu bond and was tested in 21 categories in controlled conditions by an independent laboratory.
Nazreen Wadia, support manager, Arrow Digital, stated: "The UV inks perform proficiently with tapes and adhesives even under stressful conditions."
The inks were tested for resilience to heat and light, and resistance to commercial and industrial chemicals such as cleaning products, standard condensation, water and Xenon arc lamp examinations were undertaken.
"For assessments, in all cases the ink range did not crack, peel or discolour. It is resistant to abrasion, scratching, grinding, polishing and also does not chip or flake when cut. We are proud to present our partner’s product, which has excelled in ink performance. This has been confirmed independently," added Wadia.
