Agfa buys web-based workflow firm

Agfa has extended its reach in newspaper pre-press workflow with an agreement to buy ProImage.

ProImage is an Israeli developer of web-based digital workflow.

 

"This deal enables us to serve the newspaper market even better," said Agfa newspaper business director Kurt Smits. "Using a multi-brand, multi-channel approach, we can now offer customised total solution including hardware, software and consumables as well as tailored packages for customers who prefer a multi-vendor solution."

 

The ProImage brand and products, which includes the NewsWay workflow, will continue.

 

ProImage employs 29 staff and had sales of 3.7m ($6.7m).
