Administrators hopeful of Character Mailing sale

The administrator for failed mailing house Character Mailing has said that it expects the business to continue.

Merseyside-based Character DPM Group, along with its Stockport-based subsidiary business Character Mailing Services, went into administration with Brian Green and Paul Flint of KPMG last month.

The administrators are continuing to trade the business, although 44 of the 173 employees across both businesses were made redundant.

After several weeks of investigating interest in the business, the administrators have said they believe that a sale can be achieved.

A spokeswoman for KPMG said: "We are hopeful, given the levels of interest shown to date, of being able to conclude a sale of all or part of the business and its assets over the coming weeks."

Last week, KPMG said that the business's mailing arm, in particular, had attracted a lot of interest. It is unclear if the administrator will seek to split the businesses or if the print arm will be forced to close.
