A deal for the business was struck at 8pm last night (28 October) after the company had gone into administration with Grant Thornton on Monday (25 October).
Matthew Dunham, who handled the administration alongside Les Ross, said: "We have achieved a sale of the business to an independent third party. 36 jobs have been saved and this ensures a continuity of the business."
Nobody was available for comment from Character, which has acquired a number of businesses recently, including APG Visual Colour.
Around half of £7.5m turnover Paramount Print Group's 68 staff were made redundant when the administrator was appointed.
Paramount bought fellow Manchester printer Qualitech out of administration in August last year, and Dunham said that the company had struggled ever since.
Paramount Print Group in Manchester is unconnected to Paramount Printers in Edinburgh.
